Within the circular production system of Parali by Aarushi (PBA), no material is discarded. Residual fibres and offcuts generated during textile production are reprocessed into paper and applied in the Boiya Collection, extending the lifecycle of agricultural waste and reinforcing a zero-waste approach.

Parali Paper is developed from upcycled rice straw residue and production waste. Instead of allowing excess fibres to be burned or discarded, they are transformed into handcrafted paper used for packaging, tags and design applications. The process reduces material loss and maintains the biodegradable and compostable qualities of the original resource.

The Boiya Collection revives a nearly lost craft tradition from Haryana. Historically, boiya referred to lightweight utility objects made from locally available natural materials. PBA reinterprets this technique using upcycled fibres and circular production methods. The collection includes decorative objects such as vases, created through manual processes that preserve traditional craftsmanship while adapting it to contemporary design contexts.

By integrating agricultural waste into both paper production and the Boiya objects, the studio closes material loops and creates additional income streams for rural artisans, particularly women involved in preparation and fabrication. The result is a craft-based collection that combines heritage techniques with circular material innovation, demonstrating how agro-waste can be repositioned as a valuable design resource.
